You are probably familiar with what a shelter is; anything that protects you from the outside world and weather conditions. Of course since most of us live in a city we do not have to worry so much about finding shelter because we have our apartments and hotels that we can stay in for the night. After you do that you will need to find a place to stay or some sort of shelter especially if you are living in a cold climate. Of course if your home was not destroyed during a disaster there will be no need to find somewhere else to stay but if it is you will need an alternative. If a natural disaster occurs and it destroys many houses thus leaving many homeless the government will set up shelters for the homeless people; you could stay there. Finding shelter after disasters strikes can be quite a problem especially if you have a family to look after. However, if you a natural disaster does not happen you will still need to find shelter if you are planning on going camping or even if you want to go down to the beach for a bit.

The most common type of shelter to take while you go camping is a tent. Tents are quite strong (depending on what model you purchase) and you can fit a considerable amount of people within one tent. Of course, tents come in many different sizes so you will only need to purchase a large tent if you want to sleep with your family otherwise you will be fine with just a smaller tent for one or two people. Since nowadays we all have our homes and most of us live in the city we do not usually think about finding shelter because we always have shelter available. However if you happen to get lost in the wilderness or a forest and it is cold and raining you will need to figure out a way to find some shelter to stay warm.

If you are lost in the forest and it is quite cold you should find shelter as soon as possible and start a fire to keep you warm. You just need to take care of yourself and stay alive while the search parties look for you. So you could seek shelter within a cave if there are any nearby or you could build one out of wood. Either way, shelters are important and it would do you good if you learnt how to build shelters out of natural materials.
